Basketball Recap: Castle Park Takes a Loss

Castle Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 53-46 to the Chula Vista Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 51-46 loss last Wednesday.

Chula Vista was led to victory by Daniel Orta and Elijah Gillespie. Orta posted 22 points, while Gillespie earned 17 points. The match was Gillespie's fifth in a row with at least 15 points.

Castle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Chula Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Castle Park nor Chula Vista have any future games scheduled.
