Baseball Recap: Carrollwood Day Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Carrollwood Day dropped their record down to 17-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 4-1 to the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buccaneers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Carrollwood Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Earle, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Berkeley Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Berkeley Prep's side, Rivers Kurland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits and racked up eight Ks. Kurland has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Josh Herrmann was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Walters, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

While Carrollwood Day had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
