Basketball Game Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Kinston Vikings

East Duplin is 0-9 against Kinston since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The East Duplin Panthers will take on the Kinston Vikings at 8:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, East Duplin earned a 49-38 win over Clinton.

Meanwhile, Kinston entered their tilt with Goldsboro last Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 61-53. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Cougars are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kinston has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for East Duplin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

East Duplin took a serious blow against Kinston when the teams last played on January 7th, falling 78-32. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point East Duplin was down 55-15.
