Football Recap: Eva Ocampo Leads Cosumnes Oaks' Defense on Thursday

Cosumnes Oaks lost to Franklin back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wolfpack snuck past the Wildcats with a 13-7 victory.

It was another big night for Abby Greene, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Cosumnes Oaks didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Eva Ocampo, Jacklyn Ocampo, and Bailey Rademaker picked up one apiece. Jacklyn also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Cosumnes Oaks' win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-3. As for Franklin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cosumnes Oaks will square off against rival Elk Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolfpack 12.2, the Thundering Herd 13.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Franklin is set to take on their familiar foe Laguna Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
