Baseball Game Preview: Cardinal O'Hara Lions vs. Devon Prep Tide

Cardinal O'Hara is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Devon Prep a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Cardinal O'Hara Lions will host the Devon Prep Tide at 4:00 p.m.

Cardinal O'Hara lost 8-1 to La Salle College on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly seven runs.

Cardinal O'Hara saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Campuzano, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Devon Prep). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Roman Catholic a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tide considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

John Doogan made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, Alex Hannah was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Flannery, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cardinal O'Hara's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Devon Prep, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
