Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Thrall

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Thrall were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Rockdale. Thrall has beaten Rockdale the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Rockdale has come to flipping the script.

Thrall got a great performance from Miley Pokorny as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Pokorny has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Selena Quintanilla was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Adelynn Bishop was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Thrall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockdale only posted an OBP of .167.

Thrall's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Rockdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15-1 record this season.

Thrall will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rockdale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
