Covington's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Haywood Tomcats 58-55. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 46-38 victory the Tomcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Despite the defeat, Haywood had strong showings from Camariya Woodland, who posted 19 points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds, and Leia Yancey, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards. The contest was Yancey's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dasharia Russell, who scored seven points and five boards.

Covington now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Haywood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Covington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-35 win against Ripley on the 5th. As for Haywood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-48 victory against Bolivar Central on the 5th.
