Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Comes Up Short

Cabrillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morro Bay Pirates. The Conquistadores were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Cabrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Morro Bay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cabrillo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Ynez at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Morro Bay, they will face off against Templeton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Morro Bay is facing Templeton at the right time seeing as Templeton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
