Northwest came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Pilot Grove Tigers 47-29. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Tigers are ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Pilot Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.
