Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Ysleta

The Mountain View Lobos will venture away from home to take on the Ysleta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain View is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Fabens on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lobos as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Ysleta kept a clean sheet against Clint on Tuesday. They blew past the Lions 4-0. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won three games by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Clint with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alan Nevarez (2), Jesus Rodriguez, and Arturo Perales.

Ysleta's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three contests. As for Mountain View, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Mountain View came up short against Ysleta in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 5-3. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
