Middletown North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Belenko out in front who rushed for 141 yards and one score. Belenko's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 112 rushing yards. Another receiver making a difference was Jack Viola, who gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns.

Middletown North didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Matawan Regional to a completion percentage of just 48%. The Lions weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 55.6%.

The win got Middletown North back to even at 3-3. As for Matawan Regional, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
