Soccer Game Preview: Beyer vs. Ceres

The Beyer Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Ceres Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Beyer will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Pacheco, who they had gone 0-8-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Beyer never let Pacheco onto the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Patriots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 700th, while the Panthers are ranked 131st).

Meanwhile, Ceres lost 4-1 to Grace Davis on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly three goals.

The win got Beyer back to even at 5-5. As for Ceres, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5-4.

Beyer beat Ceres by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Beyer repeat their success, or does Ceres have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
