Basketball Recap: Hackensack Comes Up Short

Hackensack lost against Ramapo back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the Hackensack Comets and the Ramapo Raiders didn't end well, with the Hackensack Comets falling 69-54. The Comets were down 59-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Ramapo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aj Greig led the charge by going 9-for-14 to rack up 21 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Greig now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Wingfield, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards.

Hackensack's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Ramapo, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hackensack will venture away from home to face off against Northern Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Highlands will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hackensack surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ramapo, they will challenge Ridgewood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
