Football Recap: Oglethorpe County Falls Despite Big Games from Caden Hartrum and Paris Crowder + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oglethorpe County can now relate to. They took a hard 24-7 fall against the Elbert County Blue Devils on Friday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Oglethorpe County had strong showings from Paris Crowder, who picked up 67 receiving yards and one TD, and Caden Hartrum, who threw for 73 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. Hartrum's passing game has become a key predictor of the Patriots' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise.

Mikeal Allen had an outrageously good game for Elbert County as he rushed for 161 yards and one score. Those 161 rushing yards gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Turman, who rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown.

Oglethorpe County's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Elbert County, their record now sits at 5-6.

Oglethorpe County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elbert County, they will venture away from home to face off against Gordon Lee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
