Football Recap: Santee Takes a Loss

Santee played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls, falling 82-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Cowboys/Cowgirls: they've now lost five in a row.

Andre Denney threw for 83 yards on only six passes. Braxton Parker was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards.

Kaden McNare had an outrageously good game for Cody-Kilgore as he rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave McNare a new career-high. Teagen Fish made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Santee's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cody-Kilgore, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Santee and Cody-Kilgore will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Warriors see the field they'll take on Stuart on the 26th. As for Cody-Kilgore, their break will end when they face Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th.
