Basketball Recap: Cabrillo Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Stockdale

Cabrillo saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 47-36 win over the Stockdale Mustangs. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Conquistadores' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 944th, while the Mustangs are ranked 441st).

Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Stockdale, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Cabrillo has already played their next contest, a 54-51 loss against Justin Garza on the 14th. As for Stockdale, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Golden Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Stockdale is facing Golden Valley at the right time seeing as Golden Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
