Football Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Lindale Eagles

Pine Tree and Lindale are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Pirates will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pine Tree has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 148 points over their last three games.

If Lindale heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Pine Tree took over last week. The Pirates came out on top against Chapel Hill by a score of 35-28 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, while Lindale put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Mabank. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 49-0. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Pine Tree better focus on containing David Lindig and Reed Carnathan as the pair were huge in Lindale's win. Lindig picked up 48 receiving yards and one score, while Carnathan threw for 48 yards and one TD.

Lindale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mabank only rushed for 27.

Lindale's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.0 points on average over those games. As for Pine Tree, their record is now 5-3.

Pine Tree didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lindale in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 13-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
