Baseball Recap: Spotswood Finds Home Field Redemption Against East Rockingham

There's no place like home for Spotswood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let the East Rockingham Eagles get on the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Trailblazers, who suffered a 10-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Brady Hoover's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Danny Gass was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Spotswood pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Rockingham, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.

Coincidentally, Spotswood and East Rockingham will both be playing Broadway the next time they take the field. The Trailblazers will head out to face the Gobblers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
