            Softball Preview: South Albany Redhawks vs. Corvallis Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            South Albany is 2-8 against Corvallis since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Redhawks will host the Spartans  at 5:00  p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
South Albany is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14  runs  on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Dallas  on Friday. They came up short against  the Dragons, falling  11-1.
Meanwhile, Corvallis lost  15-3 to Bend on Saturday.
 Corvallis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sienna Gee, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Corvallis has also been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record  this season. Those  losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for South Albany, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
 South Albany couldn't quite get it done against Corvallis in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024 as they fell  6-2. Can the Redhawks avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
