Deion Edwards leads Springs Valley to victory over Lanesville

Recap: Springs Valley Blackhawks vs. Lanesville Eagles

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barr-Reeve, the Springs Valley Blackhawks were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Lanesville with a sharp 76-51 victory. With that win, Springs Valley brought their scoring average up to 54.6 points per game.

Deion Edwards continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Springs Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Walls, who scored 18 points.

Despite the loss, Lanesville still got an impressive performance from Jaxson Payne, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Payne. Another player making a difference was Nolyn Hall, who scored nine points.

Springs Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lanesville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springs Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Perry Central is ranked 292nd, while Springs Valley is ranked 299th). As for Lanesville, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Henryville at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Henryville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
