League recap: Buchholz's Sanders delivers best pitching performance from past week

7A District 1 league recap: 3/27/13

Phoenix Sanders was the top pitcher in 7A District 1 this week, leading Buchholz. He picked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Forest outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Wildcats beat Lecanto 3-2 and Belleview 16-1.

Forest's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only six hits and two walks, both of which led the league.

There were five hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Hank Truluck, who hit .667 this week (4-for-6).

The Bobcats' Sanders led the league in strikeouts this week with nine. He's first in the league with 46 total strikeouts.



Sanders struck out nine in Buchholz's 5-0 win over Gainesville on March 21.

Hank Truluck was an RBI machine on Friday, as he knocked in six runs during the Wildcats' 16-1 win over the Rattlers /Diamo. He went 3-for-4 and scored one run.
