Mapleton found a leader in Chase Sword as the team took down Open Door Christian on Thursday. Sword got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Mapleton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Sword and Mapleton will square off against St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mounties have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since April of 2019, but a win here would be a good start.
