Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is the Habersham School's Third in Last Four Outings

The Habersham School won the last time they faced David Emanuel Academy, and Daniil Phillips did his part to make sure it happened again. The Habersham School Patriots walked away with a 62-54 victory over the David Emanuel Academy Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Phillips, who posted 16 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Parker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. He has become a key player for The Habersham School: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise.

Despite the loss, David Emanuel Academy still got an impressive performance from Peyton Lee, who put up 17 points and seven rebounds. Lee is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Clayton Hood, who had four points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.

The Habersham School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for David Emanuel Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The Habersham School will welcome First Academy on Monday. As for David Emanuel Academy, they will head out to face off against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
