Basketball Game Preview: Forge Christian Fury vs. Strasburg Indians

Two dominant guards in Owen Hovis and Tyce Bollers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Forge Christian Fury will take on the Strasburg Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Strasburg will be up against a hot Forge Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Forge Christian blew past Stargate School, posting a 67-27 victory. The Fury have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Strasburg faced Yuma in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Strasburg fell to Yuma 68-63.

Forge Christian will need to focus on slowing down Nick Glatfelter, one of several Strasburg players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. That's the most points Glatfelter has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brody Hopwood, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Forge Christian's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points over those games. As for Strasburg, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3.

Forge Christian took their victory against Strasburg in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 66-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forge Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
