Softball Recap: Smyrna Bulldogs vs. North Jackson Chiefs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Summertown, Smyrna was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the North Jackson Chiefs with a sharp 14-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adaeze Nwogbo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Talia Paredes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Smyrna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Jackson only posted an OBP of .077.
Smyrna's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for North Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
