Softball Game Preview: Gallatin County Wildcats vs. Trimble County Raiders

Gallatin County is 0-10 against Trimble County since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will face off against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Gallatin County is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Gallatin County gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Lloyd Memorial by a score of 6-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Trimble County was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against South Oldham, falling 13-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Trimble County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaelyn Holbrook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Gallatin County pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Trimble County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Gallatin County suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Trimble County in their previous meeting on April 2nd. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
