Basketball Game Preview: North Point Eagles vs. Oxon Hill Clippers

The North Point Eagles and the Oxon Hill Clippers will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North Point has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Oxon Hill will arrive with five straight wins.

On Friday, North Point lost to Varsity Opponent at home by a 71-55 margin.

The losing side was boosted by Nasir Eatmon, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Brown, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, North Point was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, everything went Oxon Hill's way against Westlake on Friday as Oxon Hill made off with a 70-49 victory. The Clippers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

North Point better keep an eye on Nigel Harris. He was instrumental in Oxon Hill's win, putting up 33 points. The contest was Harris' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Scott, who posted 12 points.

North Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oxon Hill, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
