The Roosevelt Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against the Poudre Impalas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Roosevelt earned an 8-5 victory over Severance.

Brady Mylander made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Unruh, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Bryant, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Poudre hadn't done well against Rocky Mountain recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Impalas skirted past the Lobos 8-6.
Like Roosevelt, Poudre also got a great game from a two-way player: Angelo Vieira. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Vieira was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Vieira wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Bay, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Roosevelt has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Poudre, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Roosevelt took their victory against Poudre when the teams last played back in March of 2016 by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Roughriders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Impalas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
