Basketball Recap: Beacon of Hope Christian Takes a Loss

Beacon of Hope Christian played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 56-17 loss at the hands of the Parsons Christian Academy Lions. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Beacon of Hope Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Liam Matyiko posted 12 points. That was a full 70.6% of the Eagles' points, marking the fourth time in a row Matyiko has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Beacon of Hope Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Parsons Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Beacon of Hope Christian will venture away from home to take on Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Parsons Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaches Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give Parsons Christian Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.
