Basketball Recap: Block Island Takes a Loss

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 26th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 57-16 loss at the hands of the Providence Country Day Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Providence Country Day this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-18 last Thursday.

Providence Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zeke Dodd led the charge by putting up nine points. Gabe Johnson was another key player, earning nine points.

Block Island's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Providence Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Block Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-15 defeat against Achievement First Providence on the 5th. As for Providence Country Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-48 loss against Central Falls on the 10th.
