Softball Recap: Milan Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Milan waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Lawrenceburg Tigers 9-1. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Kynadee Bode made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Kayleigh McIntosh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Nevaeh Carpenter was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Milan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Milan's record now sits at 22-9. As for Lawrenceburg, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-9 record.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Milan will face off against Trinity Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawrenceburg, they will challenge Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
