Baseball Recap: Holy Spirit Catholic Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Lamar, Holy Spirit Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Aliceville Yellowjackets by a score of 5-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Saints as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Alex Tant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Tant wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Barnett, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Charlie Strozier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Holy Spirit Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Aliceville, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Holy Spirit Catholic will face off against Verbena at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aliceville, they will square off against Isabella at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
