Preview: Four Winds/Minnewaukan Indians vs. Thompson Tommies

After three games on the road, Four Winds/Minnewaukan is heading back home. They will take on the Thompson Tommies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Four Winds/Minnewaukan is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Thompson in North Dakota (Four Winds/Minnewaukan is ranked sixth, while Thompson is ranked 46th).

After soaring to a 34-point win in their last game, Four Winds/Minnewaukan came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Kindred by a score of 48-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Four Winds/Minnewaukan has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Thompson didn't have too much trouble with Langdon/Edmore/Munich on the road on Monday as they won 64-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Thompson.

Thompson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Krogstad out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Krogstad scored 15 or more points. Karter Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.

Four Winds/Minnewaukan's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Thompson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Four Winds/Minnewaukan didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Thompson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. Does Four Winds/Minnewaukan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thompson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
