Aj Mcbean Delivers Best Effort of Season

Aj Mcbean produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Mira Costa to the win on Friday. Mcbean rushed for 332 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.

On the year, Mcbean has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 138.4 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 40.57 rushing yards per game.

Liam Meeker Has Career-Day on Friday

On Friday, Mira Costa got the W thanks in part to Liam Meeker playing the best football he has all season. Meeker rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.

On the season, Meeker has averaged 86.3 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 4.57 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 74.71 rushing yards.

Seth Shigg Turns in Season-Best Performance

Sadly, Seth Shigg posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Culver City over Mira Costa on Friday. Shigg threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

With the defeat, Culver City broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. Shigg and Culver City will welcome Leuzinger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Leuzinger Gets a Boost from Tonga in 21-14 Defeat

Journee Tonga continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his seventh-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 101 rushing yards. He rushed for 279 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

For the year, Tonga has averaged 39.1 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 36 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 203 rushing yards.

Myles Singleton Makes It Two for Culver City

The second Culver City player making an appearance here is Myles Singleton, and for good reason. His receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 115 receiving yards dating back to last season. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 58 yards.

For the season, Singleton has averaged 4.9 total tackles per game.
