Volleyball Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

Manatee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Out-of-Door Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isla Paterson out in front who had 11 digs and seven aces. Paterson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Scarlett Vella was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Manatee has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sarasota Christian on the 20th. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against DeSoto County on the 20th.
