Baseball Recap: Shorecrest Beats Glacier Peak for Their Third Straight Victory

Shorecrest hadn't done well against Glacier Peak recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Shorecrest came out on top against Glacier Peak by a score of 9-6. That's two games straight that the Scots have won by exactly three runs.

Shorecrest let Truman Clough and Quinn Burnham run wild. Clough scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Burnham scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Burnham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Hudson Ekstrom also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

The win (which was Shorecrest's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Glacier Peak, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Shorecrest will take on King's at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Shorecrest 3.6, King's 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Glacier Peak, they will challenge Kentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
