Basketball Recap: Towanda Comes Up Short

Towanda lost against North Penn-Mansfield back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Towanda Black Knights fell 61-50 to the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Tigers are ranked 176th).

Alex Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Penn-Mansfield, going 6 for 12 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Stetter, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and five boards.

Towanda is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. As for North Penn-Mansfield, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Towanda has already played their next match (against Mansfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Penn-Mansfield will square off against Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
