Basketball Game Preview: East Bakersfield Blades vs. North Stars

East Bakersfield is 1-9 against North since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The East Bakersfield Blades will challenge the North Stars at 6:30 p.m.

East Bakersfield is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 80-29 loss at the hands of South. While losing is never fun, the Blades can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1022nd, while the Spartans are ranked 396th).

Meanwhile, North humbled Tehachapi with a 77-49 victory. The Stars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 25 points or more this season.

North has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for East Bakersfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

East Bakersfield was dealt a bruising 69-29 defeat at the hands of North in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can East Bakersfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
