Softball Recap: Dillon Christian Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dillon Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

Lilli Shooter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Molly Andrews, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Dillon Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Calhoun Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

Dillon Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-4 loss against Orangeburg Prep on the 10th. Calhoun Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
