Softball Recap: Dillon Christian Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Dillon Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers 6-5. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by just one run.

Lilli Shooter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Molly Andrews was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Dillon Christian and bumps their season record up to 15-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Calhoun Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Dillon Christian will square off against Orangeburg Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. Calhoun Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
