Basketball Recap: Worth County Rams vs. Jeff Davis Yellowjackets
The Worth County Rams fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was ASHTON WILLIAMS, who scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was James Raymond, who scored 19 points.
Jeff Davis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from L'earl Conaway, who scored 12 points. Latrell Sellers was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Worth County and nudges their season record down to 13-7. As for Jeff Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cook the next time they take the court. Worth County will host the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
