Basketball Recap: Joel Munson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wilcox RVT over Platt RVT

Wilcox RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Platt RVT Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-44 back in January.

Wilcox RVT's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Munson, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points. Munson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alex Lowery, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Wilcox RVT's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Platt RVT, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wilcox RVT Wildcats face off against the Kaynor RVT Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Platt RVT has already played their next game (against Wolcott RVT), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
