Volleyball Recap: South Garner Takes a Loss

After flying high against Smithfield-Selma on Thursday, South Garner came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Knightdale Knights by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

South Garner actually scored more points across those five sets (109-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 14-25, 28-26, 25-23, 15-10.

South Garner has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Knightdale, their win bumped their record up to 3-13.

Coming up, South Garner will take on Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Knightdale, they will host Vance County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
