Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Has No Trouble Against Fremont

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger lost to Fremont back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Saints put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Avianna Vasquez tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger got a massive performance out of Maeve Miltner, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Miltner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Nees, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only posted a batting average of .136.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger will venture away from home to challenge Woodlan at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fremont, they will challenge Wabash at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
