Basketball Recap: Hamilton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tyler Jette and Canaan Magness

Hamilton was the 64-56 winner over Lockwood when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hamilton Broncs took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lockwood LIONS on Saturday. The Broncs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Hamilton had strong showings from Canaan Magness, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds, and Tyler Jette, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. That was a full 38.9% of Hamilton's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landen Wetzel, who put up 11 points.

Hamilton now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Lockwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

After both having extra time off, Hamilton and Bigfork will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:15 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Hamilton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Lockwood, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fergus at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
