Baseball Recap: Burke Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbus, Burke was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Omaha North Vikings. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Kyle Tipler was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Gilliland, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Burke now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Omaha North, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burke will face off against rival Millard South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Omaha North is set to challenge their familiar foe Bellevue East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
