Baseball Recap: Martha's Vineyard Regional Comes Up Short

Martha's Vineyard Regional was the 5-4 winner over Falmouth when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Vineyarders fell just short of the Clippers by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vineyarders have suffered against the Clippers since May 6, 2022.

Joe Mediros made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Martha's Vineyard Regional has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Falmouth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
