Softball Recap: Tehachapi Finds Home Field Redemption Against Rosamond

There's no place like home for Tehachapi, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rosamond Roadrunners by a score of 8-5 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Roadrunners: they've now won three in a row.

Averianna Porter made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayden Grigsby, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mya Gil, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Tehachapi's record is now 5-7. As for Rosamond, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Tehachapi didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 win against Porterville on the 28th. As for Rosamond, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-6 victory against Foothill on the 28th.
