The Skyline Eagles will face off against the Bountiful Redhawks at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Skyline: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bountiful has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Hunter hit Skyline with a six-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Wolverines, falling 11-3.
Isabelle Rupp was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bountiful posted their closest victory since March 11th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Woods Cross 4-2.
Dylan Carpenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bountiful saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aspyn Danner, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Bountiful now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Skyline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Bountiful struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
