Baseball Recap: Gloucester Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Gloucester won the last time they faced Menchville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Dukes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Monarchs, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dukes.

Trevor Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Gloucester saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hank Hardaway, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Gloucester pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Menchville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Gloucester will challenge Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Menchville, they will square off against Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
